Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

Grace to you and Peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!

The time has come for Mercer Hall to be renovated for its future use as a community and family resource space. The contractor has been chosen by the Vestry and work will begin in the next few weeks. Part of our preparation for that work will be moving things being stored downstairs out of the way. Some of those things will be stored in a provided container. Some things will be lovingly placed in a dumpster for removal. As we get a firm date for the container, we will schedule the dumpster so that all of the materials involved can be moved at one time. Here comes the pitch…. We could use as many hands as possible when the day comes to move the contents of Mercer Hall. Please consider lending a hand with that work. This project will proceed much more easily if many hands are involved. We will send out information about a specific date as soon as we have that arranged and would love to see you if you are available and able to help. Principally, I invite you to join in the excitement for this new chapter in the history of Mercer Hall and all of the life and ministry it will host in its very near future.

Missioner’s Corner: Brother John has set up a "Missioner's Corner" in the old wood secretary in the Ministry Hub with prayer and devotional resources, some to borrow, some to keep. Take time to check out the secretary and enrich your devotional life.

ECW continues to study 10 influential Women of the Bible. Information is in the Ministry Hub office. Meetings are the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

Mercer Hall Renovation

In preparation for the start of the renovation in a few weeks, we will be moving things being stored downstairs out of the way. Many items will be stored in a provided container; some will be placed in a dumpster with thanks for their usefulness for a time.  

Please consider lending a hand with this project to share the tasks and the excitement of new life in Mercer Hall.  When we have a firm date for the storage container and dumpster, we will let you know the date so that all of the materials can be moved at one time. We would appreciate your help if you are available.

 Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (ABCCM) is a family of Christian congregations organized to provide individuals an opportunity to grow, mature and express their faith through fellowship and service for the joy set before us in Christ.  Booklets summarizing the work of ABCCM for 2025 are on the table over the stairway atrium. Missioner's Corner:  Brother John has set up a "Missioner's Corner" in the old wood secretary in the parish workroom.  The secretary includes a lending library with books that focus on building a rich prayer and devotional life. There are books focusing on C.S. Lewis, Julian of Norwich, Archbishop Demond Tutu, Saint Francis of Assisi, Mother Teresa, Saint Benedict, and many others. Please feel free to borrow a book, read and enjoy it, then return it for someone else to enjoy. There are also many free items: rosaries, Bibles, holy cards, prayer candles, and devotional handouts. Take time to check out the secretary and enrich your devotional life with the material available there.  

Mercer Hall News! The Vestry has selected a contractor for the renovation of Mercer Hall after the Helene flooding; work will commence within the next few weeks. 

Asheville Tourist Baseball Game Church Outing will be on July 30 at 6:35pm. Sign up on the form just inside the double red doors if you’d like to participate. More information about carpooling or shuttle will be available soon.

Printed Church monthly calendars and 11:00am Holy Eucharist Worship Team schedules are available to take home. You can find them on the table overlooking the stair atrium.

Church Directory: Printed or emailed church directories will be available for members who would like one. Please let Sarah know if there is any contact information you do not wish to be shared. These directories will be distributed on a request basis rather than being left out on a table or posting on the internet as a means to continue to protect your personal information.
